I just have to share ...
Over the weekend we attended Granddaughter Ginger's High School Graduation in NYC. While there we visited two parks.
Domino Park on the Hudson in being developed. The old Domino Sugar processing plant will be renovated to be a multi-use space - residential/retail/more. The grounds are planted ENTIRELY with native plants, complete with beehives, splash pads, benches, and lawn areas.
Be still my heart.
It was highly peopled, - lots of families, kids, ... grandparents! Granddaughter Clemintine told me she came here every day last summer - one of her favorite places.
On to a smaller unnamed Brooklyn city-block park. I was so excited I did what my mom always did - took a figure-print photo. Here we have milkweed milkweed milkweed, lush, gorgeous juicy milkweed and other native plants. Not only does a tree grow in Brooklyn! The message is being received.
Can you imagine this same beautiful thing in city parks near you?
