Youngstown Schools are in session and very soon the Ohio weather will turn cold. Often students have grown out of their coats from the previous year. This can impact whether they even make it to school on a cold, snowy day.
Last year, Youngstown Rotarians and their friends, were able to provide coats to three Youngstown elementary schools plus St. Joe's. However, we received numerous calls and emails from teachers and staff at the elementary schools where we did not supply coats, telling us how needed they are for students in their schools as well, and asking how they could be included.
This year we are hoping we can expand the number of coats we distribute through Operation Warm from approx. 1300 to 1800 and cover all five Youngstown Elementary Schools plus St. Joe's.
This means we need to raise an additional $10K for a total of $32K. We are humbly asking each Rotarian to contribute $100 for 5 coats, and to raise an additional $100 in donations. Thank you to all of those who have already donated- many contributing even more!
For those who haven't, we need those donations as soon as possible - hopefully by October 1st, so we can see if we will be able to raise enough funding to cover all the schools and get the coats ordered and distributed by Halloween.

The Youngstown Rotary Foundation
For the last ten years, The Rotary Club of Youngstown has been collecting funds to purchase warm winter coats for school children in need and partners with various Youngstown schools to distribute them. If you would like to make a real difference in the life of a child in the community, consider giving money or time.
