MEMBER Opportunities

Bell Ringing For Holidays
November 27 & 28, 2020 1
10 AM - 6 PM
We will be providing volunteer support again this year to the Salvation Army annual Kettle Drive at the Poland Giant Eagle. We are seeking two masked bell ringers for each two-hour shift who will stand six feet apart from one another and the kettle, ring bells, and sanitize the kettle after each donation.
Contact Dave Stillwagon
to sign up.

Holiday Stocking Project
December 2020
We are working with CASA MADRE HIV/AIDS Ministry Ursuline Sisters to provide stockings filled with goodies for 48 children to open on Christmas morning. This will be done similar to past projects, but with COVID-safe additions. Please consider making a monetary gift to Youngstown Rotary Foundation/Christmas Stocking Project to be used toward purchasing items and/or plan on joining us for a physically distanced holiday event where we will assemble the stockings.
Contact Sharon Letson for more information.
ROTARY MAGAZINE
RI Convention 2021

Whether you will or won’t be going to the Rotary International Convention in Taipei next year, be sure to take an "armchair tour" via this month's edition of the magazine.
Check out the food (dumplings cooked in a hot pot or pan-fried buns), temples old or the National Palace Museum and its contents, and new buildings such as the world’s tallest building (at least it was when it was erected in 2004) --it looks much like a pagoda! There are hikes to take and hot springs in which to take a dip. You will be introduced to tour guides and to the subway and learn how safely and easily you can travel on your own there. RI even put together an enticing video together to get us interested HERE
This story, like all issues of Rotary, expand our knowledge of the places in which Rotarians are at work and of the variety of professions and work that others do that are essential to our well being. We encourage you to make time to read it.
YOUR FELLOW ROTARIAN

Compiled by Debora Flora

The diverse skills of Rotarians benefit clubs and communities. RCY is fortunate to count George Nelson among its members. His skills as a writer and photographer quickly benefitted the club, as George led efforts to create member recruitment videos to post on social media. Read on for details of his own recruitment story.
