Last Week's Review: Jesse McClain, Holocaust educational specialist for the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation, spoke to the group about the need to continue to raise awareness of what the Nazi's perpetrated before and during WWII. It is everyone's responsibility, McClain said, to keep alive the accurate story of this horrific experience so that it cannot happen again. An educator for more than 24 years in Boardman schools, he is widely recognized for his specialty in Holocaust education and is available to speak by request. See more pictures from the meeting here.
This coming week:Christopher Tennant is our speaker on Wednesday. Chris founded Thrive Mahoning Valley alongside a fellow Emerging Leader Program alum. Besides serving as current co-director of the organization, he is employed as a school-based behavioral health counselor with The Red Zone and Youngstown City Schools.

Beyond Borders
As RI President Knack reminds us, “contributing to peace and international understanding has been a high priority for us since our earliest days.” Events in this country tell us of the need to promote peace here at home and to heal divisions here as well as those in other countries. “Lowering the Temperature” focuses on the “how” of addressing “interpersonal conflicts” as well as those of society and identifies sources for further information. Check out “Beyond Borders” as well as Letters to the Editor for additional ideas of what clubs are doing to promote peace.
This story, like all issues of Rotary, expand our knowledge of the places in which Rotarians are at work and of the variety of professions and work that others do that are essential to our well being. We encourage you to make time to read it.

The Paul Harris Fellow Challenge + Double Your Donation
District Governor Linda Henderson says that we raised an unbelievable $61,500 this year for our The Rotary Foundation contest to “Do Good in the World” and our local communities.
The winner of the Paul Harris Fellow Challenge was Paul Sherba from the Canfield Club.
Nearly two-thirds of the donations included giving a “Gift to a Friend” through the Double Your Donation for donations $100 or more.
