Serve to Change Lives
Rotary International’s President-elect Shekhar Mehta is introduced in this month's magazine. He says he decided to take as his theme “Serve to Change Lives” as a way of emphasizing act rather than deed or the doer. Personally, he focuses his attention on dreams rather than accomplishments and not on what he has done but on what we as volunteers can accomplish. He points not only to polio eradication and to Rotary’s work in India to educate girls in particular but also on our need to recruit more volunteers. He sets our goal: each one recruit one.
This story, like all issues of Rotary, expands our knowledge of the places in which Rotarians are at work and of the variety of professions and work that others do that are essential to our well-being. We encourage you to make time to read it.
